Middleton & Company was founded by the Middleton's in 1937, as a small insurance agency serving Northern NJ and local bordering states of PA and NY.
In 1969 Eli Gaynor joined the agency. Eli led the transformation of Middleton & Company into a progressive, growth oriented agency and upon retirement of the Middleton's, assumed the Presidency, further expanding its boundaries in growth and scope through specialization.
In 1979 Richard Gaynor joined Middleton & Company Insurance Agency, creating and marketing a variety of specialized insurance programs designed to protect and enhance the future financial stability of their clients. As Middleton & Company expanded, adding insurance specialists to its staff; the company required larger quarters and in 1989 the Agency built its present location allowing greater space for efficiency. Richard assumed the presidency of Middleton & Company in 1995, continuing the commitment to providing business solutions for their clients while maintaining strong profitable growth.
Richard's educational background includes his degree in Business Administration. Additional educational designations received are from The Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) and the prestigious Certified Risk Manager (CRM). Richard has extensive board participation experience having served on over 10 public and industry boards, and continues to be an active member of various industry leadership committees, including NJ Land Improvement Contractors, NJ Landscape Contractors Assoc, National Ornamental Misc. Metals Assoc., Irrigation Assoc of NJ, Property Owners Association of NJ, and the American Subcontractors Assoc. of NJ(ASA). He is licensed in NJ, NY, PA, AZ, CA, DE, FL, MA, IL, NC, RI.
